Visual Arts teachers in the Northern Suburbs, Northern Beaches and surrounding areas are invited to participate in two professional development opportunities on Tuesday 28th November, 2017.
VADEA Metropolitan Inspire North, a professional development day for visual arts teachers will be held at the Covenant Christian School in Belrose (8.45am – 3.20pm) and VADEA Metropolitan Indulge North will be held at Mosman Art Gallery, 1 Art Gallery Way, Mosman (4.00pm – 5.30 pm).
VADEA Inspire North is a professional development day for visual arts teachers to be held on Tuesday 28th November, an opportunity to exchange ideas and teaching and learning strategies with visual arts teaching colleagues.
Covenant Christian school will host the day, providing visual arts teachers with the opportunity to share resources, new ideas, programs and learning strategies for teaching Visual Arts, Visual Design and Photographic and Digital Media. The program will include a series of short presentations from visual arts educators including Cath Rose Visual Arts Teacher, Covenant Christian School, Belrose; Jane Poiner HT Visual Arts, The McDonald College, Strathfield; Nicole DeLosa Head of Learning Area-Art, Design and Applied Technology, Pymble Ladies College; Wendy Ramsay VADEA Co-President Professional Learning; Kim Kofod Learning Coordinator, Bradfield Senior College, St Leonards; Stephen Little Visual Arts Teacher, Concord High School and Karen Blundell HT Creative Arts, Manly Campus, Northern Beaches Secondary College.
The day will also include resource demonstrations from S and S Wholesale and Eckersleys.
Presentations will address the dissemination of knowledge, understanding and skills in the making and the critical and historical study of visual arts informed by practice, the conceptual framework and the frames.
Each participant is requested to bring a unit of work, program overview or resources to share in Swap Meet afternoon session.
VADEA Metropolitan Indulge North: An exciting professional development event at Mosman Art Gallery, Art Gallery Way & Myahgah Road, Mosman.
Participants will be provided an opportunity to view a series of time-based artworks in the exhibition: MOVING HISTORIES//FUTURE PROJECTIONS. This exhibition brings together some of Australia’s leading female contemporary artists working across screen based media. After viewing the works, John Cheeseman, Mosman Art Gallery Director will present an exhibition talk.
VADEA Indulge North is a free VADEA event supported by Mosman Art Gallery. The evening is aimed at bringing VADEA members together to listen to specialist speakers and make new professional contacts in a collegial atmosphere.
