The Visual Arts and Design Educators Association NSW (VADEA) is a not-for-profit, educational organisation for visual art and design educators from diverse educational contexts: primary, secondary, tertiary, administration, museum education, and lifelong learners. Membership is also extended to publishers, manufacturers and suppliers of art materials, retired teachers, arts councils, and institutions – anyone concerned about quality visual arts and design education.
VADEA ADVERTISING POLICY
- VADEA encourages the dissemination of information concerning visual arts and design education innovations, products and services that benefit or contribute to the professional development of its members.
- VADEA is able to distribute advertising information to members via E-Bulletins.
- The advertising material will reflect the values of visual arts education and be of professional interest to VADEA Members.
- Applications to advertise with VADEA should be made to contact@vadea.org.au
- VADEA reserves the right to accept, decline or cease advertising opportunities at the discretion of the VADEA Executive. The VADEA Co-Presidents are required to authorise all advertising requests.
- VADEA states that advertising that uses the VADEA name, trademark or even colours in a way that misleads consumers into believing there is some link between the organisation or their products, may be interpreted as being misleading or deceptive under the Section 18 of the Australian Consumer Law, and may also constitute “passing off”.
ADVERTISING SPACES
VADEA has introduced a new advertising model and procedures, and as such the previous fees associated with the E-Bulletin has changed.
E-Bulletin
- The E-Bulletin is the exclusive advertising space available through VADEA.
- The E-Bulletin is an electronic publication informing the visual arts and design education community of significant developments, activities and initiatives associated with VADEA and visual arts and design field. One E-bulletin is generally released per school term through our email database.
- Advertisement banners will be positioned in a specified section, either in a sidebar or at the bottom of the document, and have links to advertisement pages prepared by the advertisers and approved of by the Co-Presidents of the VADEA Executive Committee.
- The E-Bulletin advertising will be received by all VADEA Members.
- All advertising through the E-Bulletin is to be approved by one/or both Co-Presidents.
VADEA ADVERTISING TERMS AND AGREEMENT
E-Bulletin Advertising Rates: Single edition advert (banner heading with link appearing in single edition) – $150
Exemption: VADEA is committed to helping not-for-profit organisations free of charge if there are educational merits that benefit both educators and their students. This exemption is at the discretion of the Co-Presidents and VADEA executive.
VADEA will at times have a memorandum of understanding with some organisations. As part of an MOU, advertising exemptions may be included.
Payments: Accounts are due and payable 14 days from the date of invoice.

Cancellations: No cancellations will be accepted after distribution deadline.
Additional Advertisement Preparation: At VADEA’s discretion, advertisers may be billed for any additional work to complete preparation of advertisements. Word or text-only files may be re-formatted. PDF proof can be provided if necessary.

PRIVACY POLICY
- VADEA will not provide any personal information about members, including names, places of employment, email or mailing addresses, to third parties. Nor will this information be used improperly by VADEA Executive or Project Officers, particularly in relation to potential conflicts of interests, or solicitation of goods or services outside of the remit of VADEA.
- Material will only be sent to members who have agreed to be recipients as per the Spam Act 2003. E-Bulletins with marketing or promotional content can only be sent where there is consent and must include an ‘unsubscribe function, which VADEA will endeavour to honour within 5 working days.
SOCIAL MEDIA POLICY
- VADEA social media governance is administered by a member of the VADEA Executive. VADEA will at times share content derived from external sources (including news articles, galleries, courses), that are of interest to visual arts and design educators.
- Whilst VADEA may share content, it does not necessarily advocate, support or endorse the views presented in shared content.
- VADEA social media governance will be conducted in consultation with the Co-Presidents. In particular, when the content concerns issues relating to e.g. VADEA professional development opportunities, curriculum, or a particular stance taken by VADEA.
- VADEA members and non-members must not misrepresent their relationship with VADEA, post content that is associated with VADEA that may be defamatory/inflammatory/contentious or a view not supported by VADEA. Misuse of social media by members, which is deemed prejudicial to the interests of the association will be dealt with under section 7.1 – Dispute Resolution and Discipline of Members, in the VADEA Constitution.
- VADEA Executive and Project Officers must not share confidential VADEA information or misuse information gained from their involvement in the association in their use of social media, as noted in the VADEA Volunteer Agreement. Nor should they post on social media, representing the opinions of the association.
