VADEA Metropolitan Inspire South West, a professional development day for visual arts teachers will be held at William Carey Christian School, Bumbera Street, Prestons (8.45am – 3.20pm) and VADEA Metropolitan Indulge South West will be held at Campbelltown Arts Centre, 1 Art Gallery Rd, Campbelltown (4-5.30 pm)

VADEA Inspire South West is a professional development day for visual arts teachers to be held on Friday 8th September, an opportunity to exchange ideas and teaching and learning strategies with visual arts teaching colleagues.
William Carey Christian school will host the day, allowing Visual Arts Teachers to share resources, new ideas, programs and learning strategies for teaching Visual Arts, Visual Design and Photographic and Digital Media. The program will include a series of short presentations from visual arts educators including Gemma Balwin (Bethany College, Hurstville), Emma Fenton (Head Teacher Creative Arts, William Carey Christian College), Viki Tamburic (Clancy Catholic College), Helen Yip (Asquith Girls High School), Wendy Ramsay (VADEA Co-President), Dr Karen Maras Convener of Visual Arts Programs, School of Education, UNSW, and Francesco Maltese (Head Teacher Visual Arts, Willoughby Girls HS).
The day will also include resource demonstrations from S and S Wholesale and Eckersleys.
Presentations will address the dissemination of knowledge, understanding and skills in the making and the critical and historical study of visual arts informed by practice, the conceptual framework and the frames.
VADEA Metropolitan Indulge South West: An exciting professional development event at Campbelltown Arts Centre, 1 Art Gallery Road, Campbelltown.
Participants will be given a guided tour of the current exhibition: BETWEEN NATURE AND SIN, a solo exhibition of exceptional works by acclaimed Australian artist David Griggs who currently resides in Manila, the Philippines. Following a tour with C-A-C Director Michael Dagostino, participants will also join a captivating artist talk with Abdul Abdullah, who has been engaged with C-A-C visual arts and education programs for young people through 2017.
VADEA Indulge South West is a free VADEA event supported by Campbelltown Arts Centre. The evening is aimed at bringing VADEA members together to listen to specialist speakers and make new professional contacts in a collegial atmosphere.
Please note: Participants registered for ‘Inspire’ will be given ticket preference for ‘Indulge’.

Once on site please head to School Reception where student ushers will escort you to R block.
