Working across multiple trajectories, Ian Strange is a shape-shifting artist who is interested in ‘showing reality askew and pushing and pulling these familiar images and icons in the world. Investigating concepts of home, architecture, space and the urban environment, Strange creates large-scale suburban interventions that involve approaches ranging from drawing, painting, site-specific installation and sculpture to photography and films that document ephemeral processes and actions. As the artist explains, ‘I create interventions in real life…I literally intervene. I put myself in the world and change it.’
